School Programmes
Jigsaw-GC’s School Outreach Programs are designed to work directly with schools to foster safe, respectful, and positive learning environments. Our programs, which engage primary and secondary students, address key challenges facing today’s youth, including violence, anti-social behaviour, and other risk factors such as gang involvement, knife crime, drug and alcohol misuse, and online safety.
Through 121 support and workshops such as our Street Smart Workshop, students are educated about the risks they may encounter in their everyday lives and equipped with the knowledge to make safe, informed decisions. Our outreach efforts aim to educate and empower young people to navigate their environment with confidence and resilience.

Programs include:

-
Workshops on violence and gang awareness, providing students with strategies to avoid dangerous situations and make better choices.

-
Knife crime prevention education to highlight the dangers and long-term consequences of carrying weapons.

-
E-safety sessions, teaching students about the potential dangers of the digital world, including cyberbullying, online predators, and social media misuse.

-
Drug and alcohol education to raise awareness about substance abuse and its impacts on physical and mental health, and other topics are also covered based on the needs of students and schools.
By partnering with schools, we help create a culture of safety and respect, encouraging students to take responsibility for their behaviour and choices and contribute positively to their school and community.
Leap’s training is designed to nurture social-emotional development and promote effective internal and interpersonal conflict management. Social-emotional development is a central protective factor from later involvement in violence. Their trauma-informed group and 1-2-1 support are specifically targeted at working with primary-aged children, their families, schools, and communities, respecting the overwhelming evidence that engagement is needed with young people and pre-adolescence to prevent later engagement in youth violence.
Leap's workshops empower young people to develop constructive ways to solve problems, deal with disagreements, and handle anger, both within peer groups and as individuals. Group work allows for peer-to-peer learning.
